This was a pure coincidence but near Haining (海宁) we went to the riverside & saw people waiting. A shushu said the tide is coming in.
Ten mins later we saw the Qiantang River colliding with the tide from the East China Sea. Sure there’s a metaphor for life in there somewhere.

And shushu caught a fish. This was after the tide rolled by. (The sea water had a really musty smell also.)
We were cycling on the Wengjin Line (翁金线), after a tip from @qi_randy. A beautiful road without cars. Lots of cyclists, all happy to be out here (and on visibly less expensive bikes compared to Shanghai; more Decathlon (like me) rather than Italian carbon fiber brands).
