Science fiction without lasers

‘Her‘ is science fiction at its best, without space travel or laser guns.

In the movie, Theodore falls in love with his conscious operating system, and the two develop a relationship with many benefits and complexities.

And while Minority Report, from 2002, is famed for its futuristic user interfaces, I find ‘Her’ even more inspirational. The story shows many no-touch devices, and the devices that do still use a screen, bolster substance and style, rather than complexity.
