Today brings us to Shishecun (石舍村) in Zhejiang. We’re here after a tip from Ash, but we’re not the only non-locals — despite this place not being on Dianping. There’s an attraction to off-the-beaten path locations, especially during the last days of the Spring Holiday break. And Shishecun is beautiful. Some buildings here were built during the Qing dynasty.
And maybe it’s the absence of crowds, or the presence of nature — but this place calms me down. It actually reminds me of my hometown. A historic city center, a river on one side — forest on the other.
Also this animal made of stones on the ground. A fox? Also a local didn’t know: “Oh, it’s art.”
